Rosemary Walkup

Rosemary Walkup of Urbandale, Iowa, died peacefully Sunday, July 24, 2022. She and her husband Glenn Frederick Walkup were blessed by children James, Elizabeth, and Ronald and grandson Joshua.

Rosemary was born May 25, 1928 in Appleton City, Missouri to George and Adah Hansford. She earned a B.S. degree from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College. She educated elementary students in Missouri, Shenandoah, and Des Moines.

Rosemary was an active parishioner of Windsor Methodist Church in Des Moines. She served in Womens' Society and managed the rummage sales. She was a Cub Scout leader and a member of local garden clubs. A devoted flora culturist, Rosemary loved her family and Siamese cats.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor United Methodist Church, 6222 University Avenue in Des Moines. Burial following at Resthaven Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the church in lieu of flowers.
