William McCloud
July 20, 2022
William “Bubba” Andrew McCloud, age 65, of Bondurant, IA, passed peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 20, 2022. Bubba was born on August 22, 1956, to William John McCloud and Bernice Eleanor (Johnson) McCloud in Fordyce, NE. Bubba grew up in Woodward, IA with his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. He graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 1975. Bubba spent 33 years of dedicated service to others as a resident treatment worker at the Woodward Resource Center.
He is survived by his son, Jerrod (Katie) McCloud of Bondurant and grandchildren, Kane, Kendal, Korbin, and Kass; daughter, Sarah McCloud of Boone and grandchild, Beau Bass; brothers, Darrell (Shirley) McCloud and Charles McCloud; and sisters, Joyce McCloud and Sandra (Tom) Peters. Bubba’s parents, William and Bernice McCloud preceded him in death.
Bubba had an enormous heart and enjoyed a life of simplicity. To Bubba, his family was his greatest treasure, and spending time with them brought him great joy. He especially loved taking his grandkids for car rides with frequent stops at Dollar General, the Saylorville spillway, Spring Lake and Redfield Dam. To stay in touch, Bubba enjoyed sending cards to family and friends for every occasion. A few of Bubba’s favorite hobbies were going to the races, fishing, gardening, motorcycle rides, and coin collecting.
Services to honor Bubba will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation on Thursday, July 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service on Friday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Woodward Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.

My Mom, Sandy Malone, was getting chemo treatments for over two years. We frequently ran into Bubba there and visited with him. He spoke very lovingly of his family and how well you took care of him. I'm sure you will miss him immensely. My Mom passed on July 16, so shared condolences and prayers all around.
