Rhonda E. Smith

Rhonda Evelyn Smith, age 60, passed away on September 23, 2021, at Trinity Center at Luther Park. She was born the daughter of Ronald Ritchie & Johnnie Mae Humburd on November 16, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Rhonda grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She then began making her way into the service industry. For 15+ years, she worked at The Gardens at Luther Park as kitchen lead. Rhonda had to retire early due to health reasons in 2020.

In her free time she enjoyed watching TV and going to the casino. Rhonda deeply loved her family, gatherings with her good friends, and family functions. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband James Smith, sons DaRon (Avril) Saunders and James “Deon” Smith, brothers Ron (Carole) Humburd, Bobby Humburd, and David Humburd, sister Brenda Humburd, and a host of other loving family members & friends.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents Ronald Ritchie & Johnnie Mae Humburd.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Glendale Cemetery in the Scattering Garden.
