Benny Agee, Sr.

Benny Dean Agee, Sr., age 76, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Benny was born February 15, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harold and Mabel (Carpenter) Agee. He was a resident of Des Moines his entire life. He was an avid car enthusiast. Benny met the love of his life, Carol, in 1965 and they were married on July 8, 1968. To this union two children were born, Harold and Benny Jr. Benny and Carol enjoyed fixing up houses and reselling them. His greatest love was his family. He loved just being home, spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife Carol; son, Harold (Trudi); grandchildren, Paige (Zac), Druw, Christian, and Jaidon; great-granddaughters, Chloe, Piper and Arabella; brother, Kenneth "Spud" Agee; sister, Kay Wier; nephew, Danny Davis; and niece, Debbie Wier.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tammy; and his son, Benny Jr.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, also at Hamilton’s, and will conclude with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
