Service Details
Mary Sanger, 82, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Mercy Hospice in Des Moines. She was born on October 18, 1927, in Terravichea, Italy, to Jim and Carmella (Paletta) Chiovaro.
Mary worked as a telephone operator for US West. She was a member of the VFW 9662 Auxiliary and the Victoria Lodge Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Jim (Darla) Sanger and Randy Sanger; three grandchildren, J.R. (Jeniffer), Nathan (Jackie) and Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Nathan, and Justin; two sisters, Rachel Marturello and Vicky Hagar. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Fred Chiovaro.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. A private graveside service will be at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to service time.

Just want you to know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am so happy I was able to see Mary last August (and eat her pasta) lol. She was always like a mother to me and I will miss her too. She was one of a kind, and I feel blessed to have had her in my life these past 41 years. God rest her soul.
