Steven L. Logsdon
July 07, 2022
Steven Lee Logsdon, 40, passed away July 9, 2022 following a swimming accident.
Steven was born March 18, 1982 to Michael and Gale Logsdon in Humboldt, IA. He was a 2000 graduate of Valley High School and attended both UI and ISU, graduating from Iowa State with an ethics and business background. His personal interests included travel, sports, fishing, camping and movies. Ronald McDonald’s House and Adopt-A-Family were some of his passions for community involvement. A cherished friend to all, he was always gifting people with food, fun and activities and touched so many lives. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold, a quick smile, and a helping hand. His personal rapport with people gave him much success as an employment recruiter. His bequest as an organ donor is a final gift that will benefit many.
He leaves behind his family grieving for a life gone too soon that includes his mother, Gale; brothers, Justin (Megan and son, Gabriel) and Andrew (Melissa and sons, Jack, Drew, and Beau); two grandmothers; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a hosts of friends to remember his memory as well.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Michael.
A memorial service honoring Steve will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. also at Hamilton’s.

I met Steve this year, March 19th, at Mike Rodriguezs for Poker night. It took just seconds to feel comfortable around him. We bonded over mutual friends and the similar jobs we had. He was so easy to talk to and I felt like I had known him for years. Im so very sorry to the Logsdon family. What a great guy and positive impact Steve had to make on a countless number of people.

Gale, Andrew and Justin,
I am so sorry to hear of Stevens unexpected passing. Although I did not know him, I can tell by his picture and obituary that he had many of Michaels qualities. I know he is in the loving arms of both of the Fathers.
May God bless you

Gale and family, I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the loss of Steve. I worked with Mike at Greenwood and his passing was so unexpected and sad, I was shocked to see the announcement about Steve. I could tell that Mike was so proud of his sons when he was able to introduce them to me a couple times when we were able to grab lunch together while working. I am so very sorry for your loss. Hugs.

My condolences to the Logsdon family over the unexpected loss of Steve. Getting to know Steve at Ellen, Nate, Benny, Ayla, and Jack's house was a pure joy for me. He gave so very much of himself to others and made it so very easy for us all to laugh, talk, share, and be at ease with each other. God gave him many gifts, let us all be thankful for having this big hearted man in our lives for the time that we did. I love you Steve ! ❤
