Service Details

Shumaine Burton was born to Lovella Neighbors and Larry Burton on November 18, 1980. He was educated in the Des Moines School System and was loved by many people. Anyone who met him would take a liking to him. He loved to sing, music, art, writing, and good food. He loved being outdoors and around good people. He was a very free spirit... his name had a meaning and he lived up to it. He loved life and family. He always had a joke or something to make you laugh. Shumaine was called home on July 10, 2022 very suddenly. He lived life and I knew if he could get up and smile with the obstacles that he dealt with daily and not complain, I could too. He made you appreciate life. He had a very good heart and the biggest laugh. He would be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his mother Lovella Neighbors, his father Larry Burton, step father Cammie "Joe” Neighbors, uncle Craig Clark, Sr., and nephew Paris Hall. He is survived by his and uncles Lynnford Hughes and Lonnie Hughes, sisters Tonya White, Yolanda Eusinazuri, and Larrvetta Burton, half siblings Larry Botts and Regina Fisher, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. His memory will live on with all good memories of Shumaine "Man Man". We love you My Brother.

When you felt love,
you know the feeling
When you lose somebody you love,
you can’t shake the feeling
A love that was so pure is the best
Makes you forget about the rest
but when you go to heaven everything makes sense
because that love makes everything have a sense
God will watch over you
