Dianne Marie Cummings, 66, passed away July 10, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center.

She was born October 18, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Glen and Vicki Head.
In 1988, Dianne met Wayne Cummings, Jr. at Luther Park, where he was a maintenance man and she was a nurses’ aide. The couple married on June 21, 1990. On September 2, 1991, their only child, Michael was born. On September 12, 2013, Dianne was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Isabella Nicole Cummings. Dianne was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Dianne was a dedicated health care aide for over twenty years. During this time, many of her clients became close friends (even though it was against the rules at Wesley at Home, formerly Generations, Inc.). Dianne was a caring person who opened her heart to many. She never saw “clients”, she always saw them for the people they were. She treated each of them with dignity and was always willing to help them in any way she could. Even if it was outside of her job description, she would find a way.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, going to her granddaughter’s games and events, or enjoying a quiet day at home with her loving pets. Any chance she had to spend time with family and friends was a joy, and she would take it without hesitation.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Michael Cummings, her beloved granddaughter Isabella Cummings, sister Nancy Enos, and her adopted sons Daniel Hellmers and Chris Jones.

She was preceded in death by her father Glen Head, mother Vicki Head, brother David Head, and her husband Wayne Cummings.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Grand View Park, 2300 E 32nd Street, Des Moines.
