Colleen Renee (Blessing) Beauregard
of Des Moines, Iowa
Colleen (Blessing) Beauregard, age 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Taylor House Hospice. She was born on February 10, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Colleen was a free spirit who lived on the wild side of life more often than not. Above all, she loved her boys, more than life itself and her granddaughters even more than that! Colleen will be remembered and live on through the hearts and lives that she has touched in her lifetime. She was loved by many.
In her free time, Colleen loved afternoons swimming and spending time with her best friend of 50 years, Rena Thornton. She always kept herself and others on their toes by taking adventures and exploring abandoned buildings with her friends. She especially had a passion for the outdoors, she loved fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, and chasing thunderstorms.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Josh (Lindsey) Beauregard, siblings Yvonne (James) Frost, Sandra Blessing, Guy Blessing, Mark (Sandy) Blessing, and Craig Blessing, grandchildren Isla Beauregard and Rory Beauregard, mom Wanda Blessing, many nieces & nephews, and her companion John Christian.
Colleen was preceded in death by her father Gerald Blessing, son Zachary Beauregard, and ex-husband Richard Beauregard.
Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Maxwell Community Center, 84 Main St., Maxwell.

Back in the 70s the Co-op in town was getting ready to tear down a building next to the RR tracks. They decided to let our after school Ecology group have it to do a haunted house. The last place you went to was the cemetery room. Colleen and Teri Green were in that room hiding under piles of leaves in front of the headstones we made. Those two little bitty girls scared the crap out of everyone! I remember people crying and someone even wet their pants. It was the scariest part of the whole thing. I will never forget that. Hard to believe they are both gone. Good times back then. Rest easy Colleen!😢
