Russell J. Boggs, 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 3, 2022 at EveryStep Kavanagh on 56th Street in Des Moines. Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. The Kingdom Hall is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting for Rusty Bogg’s Memorial Service on July 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM Central Time (Us and Canada).
Rusty was born December 22, 1960 to Russell and Vera (Petty) Boggs in Leon Iowa. He was very active in his congregation as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served as a caring and thoughtful minister. He was a successful Farm Bureau Agent for many years who also had a lifelong passion for farming. He knew no strangers and loved talking to everyone he met and he always had their best interest at heart. He was always looking to help somebody and utilized many connections to help them succeed in whatever endeavor they were tackling. He loved music, traveling, and was a Green Bay Packers fan. He was known for his ‘great taste’ in many things particularly when it came to food. He was a true foodie whether it came to simply enjoying a fine meal or preparing one. He was an all -around lovable person and was truly the best Husband, Dad, Papa, Uncle, and friend you could ever ask for. He will always be remembered by his generous and big heart.
He is survived by his wife, Diana ‘Jo’ Boggs; son, Jason (Tricia) Boggs; grandchildren, Grady and Izzy Boggs; mother, Vera Belle Boggs; sister, Melodie (Rick) Eddy and their children, Brandon Williams and Ricquel (Eliott) Milakovich; and other loving relatives and many special friends.
Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Russell Boggs and his sister, Tiffany Boggs.

Dear, Dear Friends
How we long for the days ahead, when there will truly only be happy tears of joy, when we get to see our dear loved ones who are sleeping. We're so grateful for them, that it's merely a blink of an eye. We are thinking of you all, Jo, Melody, Vera, Jason and the rest of the family. We are praying for your endurance and as so we'll put in another message, we hope you know how much we truly want to hug you and make you know we love you and how very, very sorry we are. We have had many, many meals together and usually with at least 1 incident during that meal, with Rusty. He was always a hoot. We love you ALL!

Rusty was truly one of the nicest people Ive ever known. His loving kindness and generosity to my children and I over the years will never be forgotten. He loved being a grandpa and sharing pics of his grand kids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Vera, Jason and Melodie, we are so sorry for all of you. Rusty, as I remember him growing up, was such a nice kid. From such a nice family in GG that I grew up with. God bless you all.

Dearest Friends,
My heart is filled with sadness at the loss of Rusty. Rusty and his whole family were very much a part of my young life in rural Decatur county. We rode to Bible meetings together twice a week for years. His family came every week to our home south of Garden Grove for Bible Study for many years. We went through Mormon Trail Community school together from Kindergarten through graduation. Rusty was one of the smartest people I knew. He loved joking and making people laugh. I will never forget his chuckle! Although, our paths didnt cross much as adults I was privileged to hear him give a Bible Discourse recently. He included his unique humor and made the subject come alive with his style of speaking and teaching. I remember sitting in the audience proud of my childhood friend as he connected with people in the auditorium. Rusty will be missed by more people than he would have ever thought. I am one of those people. He has set a good example of someone always putting God first in his life and being faithful to he end. Jo,Vera, Melodie, Jason, Jeff and all I wish you could feel my warm embrace of comfort. Please remember you have been in my prayers and I will continue to supplicate Jehovah in your behalf. I am sending my warm love to you my dear, dear longtime friends. Soon we will be welcoming Rusty back under blue skies and on green grass, realizing fully Gods purpose for faithful humans and this beautiful earth.
