Tod “TJ” Mason, age 38, passed away on July 4th, 2022. He was born on June 1st, 1984 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Tod Edward and Gerri Ann Mason.
TJ was an avid sports fan, some of his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Indianapolis Colts. He loved to play cards, trivia, watch sports, play golf and assisted coaching in fast pitch softball. He loved to surround himself with friends and he brought so much joy to the people around him.
TJ is survived by his mother, Gerri Mason; sister, Shannon (Anthony) Thede; nephew, Mason Thede; aunt and uncle, Donna (George) Klabunde; cousins, Deana (Larry) Boatwright, Teresa (Jim) Viggers, John (Terri) Miller, Tina (Kurt) Groesbeck, Ted (Jenn) Newman, Curt (Sherri) Rosener, Fran (Trevor) Newman, Jill (Josh) Buhrow; former wife, Nicole Mason; and many other loving friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tod Edward Mason; grandparents, William and Frances Van Arsdol, Elmer and Janet Mason; aunts and uncles, Patricia Miller, Bill Van Arsdol, and Rita (Leo) Newman.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. The funeral service will begin following the visitation at 2:00 p.m.

So sorry, TJ was a great kid. Have many great memories with him, softball, playing cards, just hanging out having a couple drinks! Rest In Peace young man until we meet again!!

I am so sad to hear this and I know during this time you all need comfort. Shannon your brother was always so funny and kept everyone smiling. I feel for you and the family. This is sad but know he's in a good place. You have a wonderful family and I hope that you all can be there for each other in this time. I am thinking about you guys. My condolences.

My heart breaks for you and your family. A mother should never have to bury her son and I know what that is like so if you need to talk you can get a hold of me anytime.
