Annabelle Joan DeGraff, 89, passed away on June 29, 2022, at Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing, Bondurant, Iowa, under the care of Hospice of the Midwest.

Annabelle (Annie) was born January 10, 1933, in Runnells, Iowa to Bessie and David Battles. She and Marion were married November 27, 1953. She and her husband spent their entire married life on a farm in Runnells, before moving to Courtyard Estates.

Annabelle was a member of Adelphi Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her family and showed it through her many acts of kindness. If not at a grandchild’s ball game, she was often found in the kitchen cleaning and prepping all the produce from the garden. She was a fabulous cook and baker and was known for her famous fried chicken and cinnamon rolls.

Annabelle is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years, Marion; children Doug (Susie) DeGraff, Debbie (Gary) Ogden; Dottie (Darron) Cutler, Dan (Deb) DeGraff; 10 grandchildren Sara (Jack) Bradshaw, Eric (Amber) DeGraff, Ryan (Kerri) DeGraff, Jason (Sarah) Ogden, Jenny (Logan) Jarr, Tate DeGraff, Danielle DeGraff, Cyndal Cutler, Ethan (Anaia) and Evan (Josephine) Cutler; ten great grandchildren, Jared and Nick Bradshaw, Sophie, Griffin and Harper DeGraff, Adelyn, Juliet and Lillian DeGraff, Rachel and Jaxson Ogden; her brother Robert (Willene) Battles, a sister Carmen (Perry) Crowell; Sister-In-Law Beth Battles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother (Raymond Battles) and one sister, (Patsy Neal).

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Adelphi Calvary Baptist Church, 7925 SE Vandalia Road, Runnells, Iowa. The funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday July 6, also at Adelphi Calvary Baptist Church, and burial will follow at the Warren-Powers Cemetery.
