James Dale Milligan, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Ramsey Village in Des Moines while under the care of Hospice of the Midwest.

Jim was born September 21, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa to Walter and Marie (Rynearson) Milligan.

He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Jim owned his own auto body shop for many years before moving to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his son, James (Linda) Milligan; daughter, Kim Nicola; grandchildren, Rob (Jenny) Milligan, Mindy Milligan, Shelley Milligan, Rachel Nicola, and Leah Nicola; great-grandchildren, Gabi, Lexi, Jayce, and Elijah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marie Milligan; his son-in-law, Mark Nicola; and his siblings, Jack Jerry, and Bob Milligan, Betty McClish, and Jodi Pike.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Masonic Cemetery, 1550 48th Street, Des Moines after the funeral service.
