Nancy I am so sorry about your moms leaving us but I know she was in a painful state for a long time. God bless her heart, she was a delight to all of us who worked at Dahls (her part time job). We had so much fun. I know Susan was waiting for her behind the Pearly Gate♥

I was Shirleys neighbor on Fleming Circle! What fun we had! Graceful, charming and oh so funny! Unfortunately, we both moved and lost touch. I thought of her often.

I was an English teacher at ALHS while Shirley was executive secretary to Mr. Bowen. She was an incredibly compassionate person to all of us staff members. I so very much admired her professional poise in her position. A great deal of responsibility was placed on her with her position and she handled herself well. She was loved and respected for her fairness with each of us. We were a family and she treated us as such. God bless you, Shirley. You were loved!!!!

Dear Nancy and family: Betty and I were so saddened to hear today that your mother, and our good friend Shirley, passed away. We go back a long way when I was one of the vice principals at Lincoln high school from 1980-87 and Shirley was Mr. Bowens executive secretary. Mr. Bowen was a marvelous principal, but it was Shirley that kept everything together and always running things smoothly. Whenever anyone needed or wanted anything, it was Shirley that everyone went to. She was such a good listener, so intelligent, and sincerely cared for both students staff and parents. Those were some of the happiest days of my educational career. Shirley and I also had the good fortune of being on the credit union board together for 15 years. She was such a valuable board member who knew the members and their history, and once again, kept everything running along smoothly. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family in the days that lie ahead.

I worked with Shirley at the Food Service Office. We worked hard but when the work was done we played hard. She was a great friend and was always here for me when my family members died. We talked everyday until about a month ago. I have lost a very dear friend.
