Lorene Eleanor Bunner

Lorene Eleanor (Burton) Bunner, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Lorene was born on August 8, 1928, to the late Lewis and Ruth Burton. She graduated from Indian Hills College in Ottumwa, Iowa. She dedicated herself to the medical field, working for Broadlawns Medical Center, where she cared for the mentally ill until her retirement.
Lorene loved coffee with cream, chocolate, crime shows, and most of all—her family. She was an animal lover, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Lorene is survived by her four children: Steve Sprouse and his wife Jan, Robert Bunner and his wife Cheryl, Linda Bunner-Hyers and Rebecca Nunn-Ryan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ruth and Roy; her son, Raymon; and Rebecca’s husband, Kevin. Her legacy will live on in the many hearts of family and friends.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines, IA on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation prior from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery in Eldon, IA.
