Neuang Boun Sisamouth, 72, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022.

Neuang was born on March 3, 1950 in Ban Lahanam, Songkhone, Savannakhet, Laos. She was one of seven children born to Korakan and Phoylom Keomany. Neuang completed her schooling in Laos where she graduated high school. She worked in the secretarial field after graduation. Neuang was a refugee and immigrated to the United States in February 1981, she settled in Des Moines in 1985. Neuang worked for Monfort, Inc. and Anderson Windows for over 20 years until her retirement.

Neuang enjoyed playing cards with her friends and thrifting with her grandchildren. Neuang volunteered for the Lao Buddhist Temple for many years. In her younger years, she was First Lady of the Laos Association, Wat Lao Buddavath, and Phothisomphan Meditation Monastery.

She has five children – four girls and one boy. She is survived by her son-in-law, Khamsouk (his children, Judy, Vinson, Maleena, and Peter); daughter, Maniseng (husband Israel, and their daughter Alina); daughter, Manisy (husband Johannes, their children Janis, Jonas, and Julia); daughter, Manisouk (husband Thomas, and their children, Kierra, Marqee, Mariana, and Marlani); son, Oupatham (wife Tiffany, and their children Ethan, Dylan, and Pomani); her first great-granddaughter, Kamila; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Neuang was preceded in death by her parents; all six of her siblings; and daughter, Manisay who was married to Khamsouk.

Prayers will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 26th at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Cremation will follow.
