Dollie Pontious

Dollie Jo Anne Pontious, age 66, passed away Saturday June, 18th, 2022.

Dollie was born September 18, 1955 to her parents Walter Fields and Elnora Northway. She graduated from Saydel High school in 1974. After high school, she was united in marriage to her late husband Ronnie Whitney on May 10th, 1976 in Des Moines Iowa. They were blessed with two children from this union; Mary Ramirez and Hulda Whitney. She later was blessed with 3 more children Nathan Whitney, Shawna Riveros and Angela Pontious.

She enjoyed celebrating holidays with family. She loved baking all of the holiday goodies for everyone such as her Pumpkin Bread and Pumpkin Pies. She enjoyed spending all of her time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Mynor) Ramirez, Hulda Whitney, Nathan (Niki) Whitney, Shawna (Jose) Riveros, and Angela Pontious; her 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Lanny, Jeff, and Chuck Fields; her sisters, Bertha Arredondo, Rosemary Bell, and Dorthy Fields; and many more.

Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Fields and Elnora Northway and her grandson, Senad Sehic.

Services will take place at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
