Cynthia Bell
June 14, 2022
Cynthia Rea Bell, 63, passed peacefully on June 14th, 2022, at Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa. Cynthia battled bravely against lung cancer for over a year and a half.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 20th, 1958 to Jack and Barbra Andersen Bell. Cynthia was employed for 32 years as a customer service representative at Communication Data Services in Des Moines.
Cynthia was an amazing sister who loved to read and work on needle point projects. She loved to fish (although she always made her big sister touch the fish). She also loved to shop with her big sister. Cynthia was truly a loving and beautiful woman, who will be missed by everyone she touched in life.
Left to cherish her memory are her big sister, Debra (Craig) Johnson, niece, Melody Cangas, nephews Jerod and Joe Bell, one great niece, one great nephew, and many cherished friends and coworkers.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jeffery Bell.
Memorials in remembrance of Cynthia may be directed toward Kavanagh House Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kavanagh’s employees, who treated Cynthia with amazing kindness through her final days. Their efforts and love will never be forgotten.
As per Cynthia’s wishes, her body has been cremated, and no services will be held.
“Nights are long since you went away. I think about you all through the day. My buddy, My buddy. Your Buddy misses you.”

Deb, we havent seen each other since we were kids, but our moms were first cousins, and we often visited Uncle Harry (my grandmothers favorite brother) and Aunt Cecile (who was also my moms first cousin on the Garrison side, and whom my mom adored), and they were so proud of you, Cindy and Jeff. They talked about you with such love. I am so sorry about Cindys passing. She was far too young, and losing ones siblings is a unique type of hurt. Cindys resemblance to Aunt Cecile was amazing. Sending my sympathies to you and your family.

I am the scheduler at Cindy's oncology office and one of the last times I saw her she gave me my favorite: a Nicholas Sparks book. I always looked forward to seeing her in the office to talk. We had many great conversations.
