Carl O. Miller, Jr.

Carl Orlando Miller, Jr., age 88, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022.

Carl was born January 28, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska to Carl Sr. and Hazel (Gilbert) Miller. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Calvary Reformed Church. Carl’s hobbies included playing cribbage, painting, and collecting coins. In his later years he enjoyed doing the Jumble crossword puzzle in the Des Moines Register. He and his sister Betty would sometimes spend hours on the phone figuring out the answers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Sr. and Hazel (Gilbert) Miller; brothers, Gilbert and Richard Miller; and wife, Isabelle (Russell) Miller.

Carl is survived by his sisters, Betty (Miller) Prather and Marilyn (Miller) Frisk, and their families.

There will be a memorial visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Urn burial will take place at Waukee Cemetery in Waukee, Iowa.
