Glendine M. LaRue

Glendine Marie LaRue, age 65, passed away surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Glendine was born December 13, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Glen and Iona (Madison) Miller. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured her children and grandbabies above all else. She loved being a wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. Glendine was an avid fan of the Wizard of Oz, maybe because she loved the motto “there’s no place like home”. She enjoyed holidays and especially family gatherings and was proud of her collection of angels.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry; her children, Jeremy LaRue, Chasity Demaranville, Joy (Seth) Higdon, Jerry (Aracely) LaRue Jr., Stacey (Gordon) Biegger; her grandchildren, Kaylynn (Tim) Ruhnke, John Tyler, Katheryn and Kody Demaranville, Seth Jr., Allie, Allen, Noah and Cayden Higdon, Jerry LaRue III, Alexis, Alexander, Abby, Justin, Grace and Liam Biegger; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Olivia Ruhnke; siblings, Glen Miller, Mary (James) LaRue, Marty Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.

Glendine was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Iona Miller; and infant daughter, Heather Lynn LaRue.

Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
