Jason Andrew Jackson, son of Raymond and Jolene (Leib) Jackson, was born on November 16, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009, in Newark, New Jersey, at the age of 31 years, 11 months from complications of a stroke.
Jason graduated from North High School in May 1996. Jason never married, but he lived and worked in New York City and New Jersey. He loved doing carpentry work and working on house interiors in his spare time as he was very creative in these areas. He was a waiter at a few restaurants in New York City, most recently at Serendipity Restaurant.
Jason is survived by his parents; his brother Scott and wife Dawn, nieces Rebecca, Lindsey and Courtney, nephews Christopher and Matthew of Bondurant; his partner Dennis Sepulvada of Maplewood, New Jersey; his grandmother Helen Leib of Allerton, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jason was preceeded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Myrtle Jackson, grandfather Eugene Leib, three uncles, one aunt, and one cousin.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 6th at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Jason.

Words can not express how much Jason will be missed and forever loved. He was the funniest, sweetest guy I ever had the privledge of knowing and being friends with. I recall several memories of us outside in his backyard with goofing off and bouncing around. My heart goes out to the whole Jackson family, friends and classmates and my condolences as well. We love you Jason !!! I know alot of us are so sorry we didnt get a chance to say hi or goodbye but someday we will see you, until Rest In Peace, Your free from any pain you had been going through!! I love you !! We love you !!

I am so sorry to hear of Jason's passing. I have fond memories of Jason from church when we were younger. I had just seen him a few years ago at Joseph's Steakhouse here in Des Moines and enjoyed talking to him as it had been so long since I had seen him. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Jason since Kindergarten at Madison Elementary. We then made our way to Harding Junior High and on to North High School. We shared many memories. His personality and warm smile, I am sure will be missed greatly. I will miss running into him on rare occasion and reunions. My warm thoughts of him will hopefully keep his memory alive. He should not, and will not be forgotten. I pray that you have lots of love surrounding you in this time of loss. He will always be around.

Jason was a great friend and an amazing individual. No matter what he had on his mind or how bad his day was, he could always make your day brighter just by saying 'hi' to him. He had personality and charisma like no other and it affected everyone around him.
My deepest sympathy to his family, Jason may not be with us in body any longer, but his spirit will never be forgotten.

I am so sorry Jolene, Raymond, Scott and the kids.. He will truely be missed by so many people that he has touched. There aren't words to describe the pain I feel for all of you and Dennis. Jason has tought me how to be a stronger and better person. And for that, I will always be greatful. I have so many great memories with him that will forever be charished. Jason was always such a great guy. Funny, Smart. He had this charisma that just drew people to him. And he always had a kind word to everybody, no matter if he talked to you 10 minutes or 10 months ago. To his family, I am sorry for your loss. All of those who knew him, will miss him.

My heart goes out to the Jackson family, Jason was always a great friend. I have many fond memories of him including my first surprise birthday party at the Jackson home back in 7th grade. He is going to be greatly missed, such a great person lost at such a young age.
