Sherrie Charlene Lussem, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 3, 2022. Funeral services will be at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, also at Hamilton’s. Interment at Rising Sun Cemetery.
Sherrie Charlene Lussem was born November 17, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Albert and Kathryn Frantz. She graduated from North High School. She worked for Capital City Bank, and later for Brooks-Lussem Insurance, Inc. She volunteered at Lutheran Hospital for an extended period of time and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of Broadlawn’s Medical Center Guild, Cupid Collector’s Club, and the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her sister, Arlene Frantz; niece, Dianne Noland; nephews, Bruce (Jill) Sheets and Mike (Cheryl) Lussem; and many great-nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Frantz and Kathryn Eivins; husband of 63 years, Ted Lussem; nephew, Duane Sheets; and great-nephew, Alex Sheets.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sherrie’s name to the American Cancer Society or to The American Diabetes Association.

Sherrie and Ted are together again! While most insurance people knew Ted best, we also knew Sherrie who worked "behind the scenes". Sherrie was witty and fun, and we're all better people for knowing her.

One of a kind! Aunt Sherrie was unique and funny and sweet and a bit salty and very, very loving. She touched so many lives and will be missed for sure. Love and prayers to the family and all who loved her.
