Barbara Evatt

Barbara Jackovich Evatt, was born on August 10, 1938 to Steve Jackovich and Lillian (Koppas) Jackovich. On November 11, 1956 she married Wilbur Adkins. They had 5 beautiful children together. She remarried Richard Evatt on February14, 1980 and remained happily married until he passed away in 1997.

Barb’s favorite pastime was being with her family. She especially loved her grandchildren, she would make each of them feel very special. Barb loved camping, traveling and especially loved watching her old western movies featuring John Wayne.

She is survived by her big sister, Joanne O’Keefe of Des Moines; her brother, Ronnie (Bonnie) Jackovich of Florida; her son, Bart Adkins; her daughter, Rhonda (Chris) Torrez, her son in law, Don baker; daughter in law, Donna Adkins; son in law, Mike Webb; her 32 grandchildren; Phillip Larson (Rochelle), Joey Larson Sr. (Kat). Stephanie (Jeremy) Hanson, Tanya Adkins, Donnie (Rose) Baker, Lance (Danielle) Baker, Jenny Page, Eric (April) Page, Nick Page, Bobby (Nikki) Page, Ryan (Amy) Adamson, Katie (Adam) Hagen, Alyxes Torrez, John Webb and Matt Webb, 41 great grandkids, 1 great great grandkid, 7 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Wilber Adkins, her second husband, Richard Evatt, son Steve Adkins, daughter, Cindy Baker, daughter, Lourie Webb, daughter in law, Penny Adkins, her baby brother Mike Waters, grandson Kurt Adamson and great grandson Keagin Adamson.

Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 12:00pm at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm.
