Gary Eugene Strong, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born the son of John and Margie (Bennett) Strong on March 30, 1954 in Elmira, New York. Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Gwendolyn, daughters Lisa and Michelle, grandchildren Ashley Gilly, Alfred Thacker IV, Kayla Larson, and Scott Larson, siblings John, Jr. and Robin, and other loving extended family members and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and step-mother Ruby.
