Julia A. Hunt was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on May 25, 2022. She was greeted into Paradise by the love of her life Jon Hunt, her parents William and Margaret Kearns, sisters Jean Griffiths and Cheryl Taeusler, a grandson Nathaniel Cornelius, in-laws Lester and Esther Hunt, and many other family and friends.
Born in Spencer, IA on October 27, 1941, she was the first of three daughters born to William and Margaret Kearns. Julia was raised in Tabor, IA where she graduated from high school in 1959. During her sophomore year, she met a boy from the next town and little did she know he would become the love of her life. Julia and Jon were married May 24, 1959, and were blessed with three children: Marty, Lori, and Brad.
Julia was baptized at a young age and the devotion to her faith was evident to everyone who knew her. She was a faithful member of Community of Christ Church in West Des Moines for many years.
Julia was a loving wife and dedicated mother. Her greatest joy in life came from time spent with her family and loved ones.
Those left to cherish her memory include son Marty (Jennifer) Hunt; daughter Lori (Joel) Whelchel; son Brad (Kristin) Hunt; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other loving family, and friends.

Lori and family,
So sorry to see the passing of your mom. I am sure Jon was waiting to meet her at the gate. We are so thankful we got to know your parents and enjoyed the famous cookies a few times. Hugs to all!
