Service Details

Clyde Leroy Kintz, Jr. was born September 19, 1950 to Clyde Leroy Kintz, Sr. and Anna Mae (Sartin) Kintz in Downieville, CA. Clyde was finally released from his demons and flew home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. He was 71.

Clyde graduated from East High School in 1968, after which he and a buddy traveled westward to California. That was only the beginning of many paths on his adventurous journeys on the road of life. Clyde was a kind, outgoing soul. He met many a folk along the way. They were from here and there, rich and poor, blue collar and professional, of all colors, all religions, some on the up and up, others on the lam. Some stayed and some went, some became near and dear, some were just there. When the demons were not by his side, Clyde enjoyed life, his family, especially spending time with and going out to eat with his brother Keith. He enjoyed music, going to concerts, traveling, fishing, watching ballgames, car races, going to Prairie Meadows, collecting – whether it would be Indian relics, motorcycles, classic cars, coins, Indian jewelry, etc. – and his dog Buck.

Clyde was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his stepfather Palmer Mascaro.

Clyde is survived by his only child Dustin, and his siblings Leona, Ramona, Vickie, Randy, Kevin, Keith, Kirk, Kim and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Link Associates, ARL, or to your local drug recovery program in hopes of saving a life and a family from going through what we have and are. He was greatly loved and will be forever missed.

It’s Me by Jacqueline A. Grieve

Hey, you guys, don’t feel guilty,
It was just my time to go.
I can see you’re all feeling sad,
I can see the tears still flow.

My life’s journey ended early,
The path I chose was short.
You all tried your best to change it,
But in the end it was for me to sort.

I know I caused you sadness,
I know I caused you pain.
But I was captured by these demons
They wouldn’t set me free again.

They took away my freedom,
They took away my choice,
And when they got their hooks in,
You could hear it in my voice.

There were times I tried to fight them,
There was a time I nearly won,
But they came back and overpowered me,
I had nowhere left to run.

I haven’t really left you guys,
I am closer than you know,
I will be the whisper in the wind,
I will be everywhere you go.

One day you will all forgive me,
One day you will understand,
And when your time on earth is done,
I will be waiting to take your hand.

Clyde is home, free and at Peace.
