Deacon Gerald T. Fike

Deacon Gerald Timothy Fike, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald was born March 9, 1948 in Los Angeles, California to Joseph and Anita Fike. He loved his church and had a strong faith. He was very dedicated to the Word of the Lord and to his church family. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed duck hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcelette Kim Fike; daughters, Traci Fike and Toni Fike (daughters of Patricia Fike); step-daughters, Denell Johnson and Tiffany Johnson; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Regina Poats and Denita Harden; brother, Ray Cole (Delta); as well as many other loving family members and close friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his brothers, Tyrone Fike and Daryl Cole; sister, Marrita Fike; and his parents, Joseph and Anita Fike.
There will be a celebration of life Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Full Gospel Church, 555 E Euclid Ave, Des Moines. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. There will be a luncheon following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice – Taylor House, 3401 E Douglas Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317, in appreciation of their loving care of Gerald.
