of Des Moines, Iowa

Albert Davilla, age 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born January 4, 1925 to Joe & Rose (Silveria) Davilla in Pinole, California.

Albert was born and raised in California and was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in San Pablo, CA. Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in Italy and Africa. He later worked for the State of California, where he retired after 35 years of continuous service.

Some of hobbies and interests included woodworking, building things, and working on cars. He especially enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughters Marita Lawler of Chickaloon, AK and Kathleen Busch along with her husband James of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Sindi, Trualy, David, and Sarah; seven great-grandchildren; and his eight great-great-grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Bonnie D. Davilla; and son Eddie Davilla.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Albert will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo, California.
