Service Details

Pamela Perry, 59, was called to be with the Lord on May 17, 2022. Her fight with Peritoneal Cancer was not a battle lost, but a passage to Heaven where pain and suffering are no more.

She was born to James and Norma Timmerman in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Pam grew up in Des Moines and was a member of Girl Scout Troop #537. She entered into Girl Scouts at the age of 7, and in the spring of 1975, she achieved the highest rank to a First Class Girl Scout. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in the spring of 1980. After high school she was a homemaker for several years before she went to work at ABC School of Learning. She also worked at Principal Life Insurance Company for a couple of years and later went to work for the Des Moines Police Department as a clerk for the Detective Bureau for nine years. Pam treasured the time spent with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter Maya, “her little everything”.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Norma Hutt of Des Moines; her loving sons, Matthew (Charlotte) Perry and Steven Perry, both of Des Moines; granddaughter, Maya Perry of Des Moines; brothers, Jeff Timmerman of Menlo, Iowa and Mark (Kelly) Timmerman of Clive, Iowa; stepbrother, Rick (Kris) Hutt of Des Moines; stepsisters, Kathy Hines of Des Moines and Jackie Swartz of Ankeny, Iowa; as well as a nephew, a niece, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends that she dearly loved.

Pam was preceded in death by her father, James Timmerman; grandparents, Elmer and Dorothy Timmerman; and grandparents, Ralph and Eunice Rounds.

The family will greet friends Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Pam wished to be cremated and laid to rest at Waterloo Memorial Park in Waterloo, Iowa.

There are not enough words for the love and compassionate care Pam received and the family would like to thank the following: Dr. Daniel Moyse at the Mercy Pain Center and the entire staff at St. Croix Hospice who became more like family. They never gave up the fight to keep Pam as healthy and comfortable as possible.

Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
