Rhonda L. Travis

Rhonda Lafaye Travis, age 56, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Rhonda was born December 10, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert “Bob” Travis and Princess (Childress) Mannie.

She earned her certified nursing assistant degree and worked with clients in nursing and care facilities. She was a caregiver at heart. Rhonda loved nothing more than to watch her grandchildren at play. She was always the center of the party with a smile and a laugh to come behind it. She loved car rides, and if she could, she’d give you everything she had.

She is survived by her children, Huere, Rhenshae, LaRhonda, and Princess; sons-in-law, Deon and Lewis; grandchildren, Kevin, Lewis, Emani, Carmello, Amare, Samiah, and Prince; father, Bob Travis; siblings, Kendral, Nichole, and Ann; nieces and nephews, Tyeisha, Bernard, Dominique, Andrew, Katt, Bernard Jr., Kefon, Natasha, Andrea, Michael, Tear, Tracy, and Passion; and many other loving family members and friends.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother Princess and her brothers, Maine and Tracy.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m.
