Buck Bos
May 01, 2022
Buck Bos, 63, passed away May 1, 2022, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born April 16, 1959, to Leon and Alda Bos.
Well I have been planning for this day for a long time and it has finally come. I love it when a plan comes together!!!!
I have had a few accomplishments in my life.
I graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1977 and served on the reunion committee for 40 years. During my senior year of high school, I started my roofing business. I worked in roofing for 35 years, learned all the construction trades, becoming a master of some and average at others. I also worked on and off as an electrician for ten years. I owned and operated Buck’s Bar and Grill from 2009-2011 and voted #1 tenderloin in the state of Iowa in 2010. Since 2012 I have done remodeling and handy man services. I’ve met thousands of people over the years and learned something from each one of them.
I had a couple ex-wives, no need to mention names.
My advice to the living is BE KIND, OPEN DOORS, RESPECT LIFE AND PEOPLE, and LOVE OFTEN.
I most enjoyed cooking, gardening, big game hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Above all, I loved and cherished the time I spent with the people who were close to me.
Please don’t judge me until you have walked in my shoes. I have lived a great life and would not trade it for anything but quality of life is everything.
Buck is survived by his son, Ryan (Stephanie) Bos, daughter, Lacy Hansen (Dan Bales); sister, Julie Bos; brother, Jeff (Angela) Bos; parents, Leon and Alda Bos; grandson, Bucky Kendall; and his dog, Shilo; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hilda and Marvin Neely and Henry and Marie Bos.
The family will greet friends at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Warren-Powers Cemetery in Adelphi, Iowa.

Oh, Buck, all those times on my way home from Mike and Nola's, and I'd turn my head to look at your house, and thought...I should stop...and never did, because I hate to just drop in on people. Now it's too late. I'll miss seeing you at State Fair. You were a friend to many, an integral part of our class, and much loved by all. I'll never forget you.
