Robert “Bob” McClelland, 87, passed away on May 3, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Chicago, IL, on July 17, 1934, to James and Ruth McClelland.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was stationed in San Diego. He worked for John Deere Manufacturing, retiring after 30 years. Bob loved cars, especially classic cars and racing was one of his favorite things. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, and taking care of his yard. Above all, Bob treasured time spent with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; son, Kirk (Terri); grandchildren, Rustin, Sarah, Mariah (Cherie), and Matthew (Jeni); five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas (Lori) McClelland; siblings, Jimmy McClelland and Dorothy Moore.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. Private family services will be held with burial to follow at Warren Powers Cemetery.
