Craig Dennis Clark, Sr.

Craig D. Clark, Sr., age 68, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was born the son of Nathan Clark and Florida Mae Hughes on December 4, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Denny graduated from Des Moines East High School, and proudly served his country as a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Des Moines Chapter of NAACP and was a CAP Officer in Des Moines. Denny was gym teacher and football coach at Meredith Middle School for many years and enjoyed driving truck on the road. One of his passions and goals in life was to become a doctor, which he took many classes and a lot of training in nursing for him to be able to help people. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is lovingly survived by his children Alisha Bush, Craig Clark, Jr. (Glenna Palimore), Brandon Clark, and Larry Wright, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers Lynnford Hughes and Lonnie Hughes, special friend & ex-wife Beverly Couch, and step-daughter Keiana Kennedy.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Aneadra Clark, sister Lovella Neighbors, and his first wife Jeana Clark.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022, with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel.
