Corina Y. Martin

Corina Y. Martin, age 44, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022.

Corina was born June 26, 1977 in Liberia and came to the United States in 1989 when she was 12 years old. Corina’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was very social and loved cooking, dancing, singing, and listening to music.

She is survived by her children, Idasha Martin, Odessa Darboh, and Mohamed Darboh; mother and step-father, Marie and Emmett Phillips, Sr.; grandmother, Victoria Dean; siblings, Jason Martin, Emmett Saah Phillips, Jr., Christopher Phillips, and Satta Phillips; and a host of other loving extended family and friends.

Corina was preceded in death by her husband Jon Griffin and other little angels.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery after the service.
