Lois Jespersen

Lois Brouwer Jespersen, 97, passed away at Iowa Lutheran Hospital on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 2, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held two hours before the service.

Lois was born March 5, 1912, in Ventura, Iowa to Emma and Joe Brouwer. She worked for American Republic Insurance Company for 20 years before she retired. Lois was a happy free spirited woman who enjoyed working in her yard and took a special pride in it. Lois was an avid reader. She was a wonderful seamstress.

Lois is survived by her granddaughters, Rhonda Jespersen and Julie (Frank) Davison; her five great grandchildren, Patrick, Stephanie, Michelle Davison, Vanessa and Russell Kay; her daughter-in-law, Sara Jespersen and her sisters, Norma Crompton, Bernice Butts, and Phyllis Brouwer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sigfred Niels Jespersen and her son, Ronald.

Memorials may be made to the Iowa Commission for the Blind.
