Allen Kidd, 60, passed away April 24, 2022 at Unity Point Des Moines Iowa Methodist Medical Center. No services are planned at this time.

Allen Tracy Kidd was born in Gary, Indiana on April 7, 1962 to the late Henry Kidd Jr. and Lena Mae (Phillips) Kidd.

Allen lived in Gary, Indiana where he graduated from West Side High School, class of 1980. He lived in Gary, until he moved to Dallas, Texas. Allen was formerly a Professional, Licensed Cosmetologist, and Dog Breeder. He worked at various construction and security companies throughout his life. After moving from Dallas, Texas to Des Moines, Iowa, Allen worked for Facebook (Meta’s Altoona Data Center) in Altoona Iowa, Microsoft Des Moines Data Center in Iowa and SEI (Security Engineering Inc.) in Iowa.

Allen had two children from a previous marriage, twins, Sydney and Sabrina Kidd. He moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 2014, and married his Thomas A. Edison Middle School classmate, Marsha Lynn (Buckingham) Kidd on December 25, 2015, where he lived until his transition.

Allen was an avid dog lover and breeder for many years throughout his life. He was proud of his own kennel named God’s Dog’s Kennel in Iowa. He loved his four dogs, Spanky, Messy, Ghost and Sable from a litter of eight puppies.

Shon Downey from Des Moines, IA was Allen’s ride or die motorcycle buddy and close friend. Allen has a special friend in Bastrop, LA., Stan (Althea) Lawson. Stan and his wife Althea were an essential part of his life for many years while they lived in Dallas, TX. Allen affectionately called Stan, Jacob.

In addition to his loving wife, Marsha, Allen is survived by his brother, Keith (Tracy) Kidd of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Kidd of Denver, Colorado and Renee (Rev. D. Keith) Wallace of Lancaster, Texas; two daughters through his marriage to Marsha, Chudney Crump of Des Moines, Iowa and Brioni (Jeryl) Jackson of Michigan City, Indiana; two grandsons, Rory Tompkins (Dashiyaa), and Kebryn Orzech; three granddaughters, Chelsea Rae Whetstone, Janya Jackson and Jamarah Jackson, who affectionately referred to him as “Pops or pawpaw”; his father in law, Booker T. (Gloria) Buckingham of Crown Point, Indiana; and a host of family, classmates, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Allen.
