Michael Joseph Daughenbaugh-Gabriel

Michael Joseph Daughenbaugh-Gabriel, age 37, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Michael was born on August 25, 1984, in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a heart of gold. The most important thing in his life was his children and all he wanted was to spend time with them. He would have done anything for his kids. He loved them above all else.

Michael attended WyoTech and graduated from their Florida campus to be a motorcycle tech. He loved to ride his Harley. Michael took great pride in his work as a drywall installer. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and had a great love for animals, especially Rottweilers.

He is survived by his mother Shelly Gabriel, father Michael Whyte, children: Jordan, Payton, and Elijah Gabriel, brothers Kenneth Gabriel and Ross Gabriel Jr. (Cristynn), step-sister Jessica Gabriel (Randall Parker), half brother Anthony Whyte (Daniela), half-sister Bailey Whyte, grandparents Norman and Donna Daughenbaugh, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his stepfather Ross Gabriel Sr., grandmother Sonya Aubrey, uncle Sean “T-Bone” Smith, great grandparents, great aunts, and great uncles. He was also preceded in death by his closest friend, Rottweiler Cinder.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, at Faith Independent Assembly, 6001 SW 14th Street, Des Moines. Cremation will take place following the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Michael.
