JoAnn Crane

JoAnn DiSalvo Crane, age 84, passed away peacefully while under the care of Suncrest Hospice on Friday, April 15, 2022 with her family by her side.
JoAnn was born April 10, 1938 to Joe and Agnes DiSalvo in Des Moines, Iowa. She was always so proud of her Italian Heritage. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard “Dick” Crane, in November of 1956. To this union, two children were born – Scott (Deb) and Sheri Seymour (Donald). They were also blessed with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They have been residents of Carlisle, Iowa since 1975.
JoAnn worked for 31 years at the Iowa Department of Revenue as a Sales Tax Agent. After retirement, she and Dick traveled most of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They were members of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on SW 9th Street in Des Moines.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Theresa and Toni. In addition to her husband, children, and their families, she is also survived by her brother, Joe DiSalvo, and many extended family and friends.
Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street, Des Moines on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in JoAnn’s name.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Trinity Center at Luther Park and Suncrest Hospice for their outstanding care and love.

JoAnn trained me at IDR. She was a joy to be around. It is hard for me to look at a Garfield cartoon without thinking of JoAnn. Her cubicle was filled with his cartoons. I am blessed by having known her.
