Christine M. Baker

Christine M. Baker, 71, passed away April 10, 2022 at her home in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. She was born on November 23, 1950 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Anna B. Stolte White.

Chris retired in 2016 after working 50 years in the food and hospitality industry in the Des Moines area. She enjoyed spending time with her family, having BBQs, going camping, trips to the Ledges and anywhere else that her family gathered. Chris played softball and playing on several different bowling leagues.

Chris is survived by three daughters, Tori Overton of Des Moines, Lori (Tim) Sheets of Norwalk and Leanna (Mike) Belger of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; grandchildren, David, Heather, James, Jody, Lawrence, Brandon, Mikey, Devin, Sean and Kayle; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Chris was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David Reynolds Baker; mother, Anna White; and three brothers, Stan Coleman, Bob Colman and Pete White.

In keeping with her generous spirit it was her wishes to donate her body to Des Moines University. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date, where she will be reunited with her husband at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 16, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 4333 Parkridge Avenue, Lot 64, Pleasant Hill, Iowa 50237.
