To the family of Ron Fels,
I am so very sorry to read of his passing in the Amana Bulletin a few moments ago and express my sincere condolences for your loss! Ron and I go way back to our Amana High School days where he was always a step (or more) ahead of me in whatever we were talking about!

We were so very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and the gift of his friendship. Ed recalls all the times after the church service ended, he would meet Ed in the back and talk sports. Ed and Ron enjoyed many years of the Barnstormer games together. He will be missed, but we are certain he is a heaven bound Hawkeye. God speed, Ron.

We lost a good one when the good Lord came calling for Ron. He will never be replaced as he set the bar so high for the rest of us. So hard to talk about all of the positives Ron brought to the world and so many were blessed to know him. He didn't know a stranger, when he met you he treated you like you were best friends from day one. Always welcoming and going out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of and had a good time.
Our kids enjoyed Ron and have so many fond memories of him. Traveling to bowl games, going to tailgates, and just being around him. He had such a calming presence and knew how to bring a smile to so many faces.
He loved his wife, his family, friends, and of course his Hawkeyes. Our thoughts and prayers are with Madge and the rest of the family as you navigate through this difficult time.
Rest in peace Ron, you are going to be missed, but you will always be in our hearts. Until we meet again!

For over 40 years we are proud to have called Ron our good friend. Spent many phone calls discussing Hawkeye games, planning road trips to away games, bowl games ( driving to California) and tailgating. Always pulling pranks on each other! A lot of great memories!! Ron will truly be missed not only by us but also by our kids and grandkids and the many friends he had at our tailgating events. Ron was definitely one special person, he was very proud of his family, sharing many stories. Our hearts are with the Fels family!
