Tiao Saykham Sayasane Calo was born March 3, 1970, in Luang Prabang, Laos. He passed away at Mercy Medical Center on April 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Tiao Saykham earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and pre-law degree from Central College. He then received his master’s in business administration from Kaplan University.
He was a loving husband and father who took great pride in his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing video games, reading books, and listening to Thai love songs. Tiao Saykham also loved watching sports, Korean drama shows, and Asian action movies.
Tiao Saykham is survived by his wife, Angela Calo; daughters, Kelsey Nea’atith and Khrystina-Siam; sons, Austyn-Paulino and Alexandre-Nea’teva; mother, Yong Lo; stepfather, Phanh Lo; father, Prince Tiao Vanhkam Sayasane; adopted father, Ing Calo; adopted mother, Theuang Calo; biological siblings, Mtxog Ly (Maysee Ly), Phone Lo (Amy Lo), Chanh Lo (Lisa Lo), Chommany Vansylalom (Nik Vansylalom), and Peter Lo; adopted siblings, Thingthong Vongpanya (Thip Vongpanya), Khamphoui Calo (Vong Phabmixay), Kingkeo Sa Dudley (John Dudley), Diana Calo (Matt Banford), David Calo, and Khamthai Lai Lovan; as well as other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kieng Lovan; grandmother, Loun Lothi; and younger brother, San Lo.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines where the family will greet visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m.
