Martine Dolores Waters
March 25, 2022
Martine Dolores Waters, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 25, 2022 at her home in Indianola.
Martine was born October 25, 1981 to Mike and Synda Waters in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 2000. Martine worked for Nationwide for over thirteen years. She loved to try new things and had an amazing joy for life. Martine had recently taken up fishing, to the surprise of her family. She loved to watch meteor showers or just gaze at the stars in the sky. She was a devoted “dog mom” to her two boxers and they all enjoyed taking rides in her new jeep. Martine was an amazing person and friend who was highly talented and was consistently sought out for advice and overall support. We will miss her smile, laugh, and get it done attitude.
She is survived by her parents, Mike and Synda; siblings, Michelle (Mike), Michael Jr., Marshane (Dustin), and Autumn; her niece and nephew, Maddie and Drake; her beloved dogs, Beezee and Blitzy; and countless friends and many loving extended family.
Martine was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
There will be a celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private family burial will take place at North River Cemetery, Greenfield Township.

Martine was so smart and hardworking and fun to chat with. I enjoyed working with her immensely. She always volunteered to help with the hardest cases and could always be trusted to find the best solution. I will miss not only her partnership but also her sense of humor and easygoing nature. We probably spent too much time chatting about our dogs, the best leggings, and our next plans for weight loss. We spoke often and I will miss her friendship. I pray for her family to find comfort in their grief.

I had the pleasure of meeting Martine at work. I recently got to work closely with her and in Martine fashion she welcomed me with open arms. Martine was always extremely helpful, knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and kind. She took a lot of pride in her work and helping others and her dedication showed up every day. Her professional reach was remarkable as she was the go to person for so many people. She will be deeply missed and we will forever remember her legacy. My thoughts and prayers go out to Martine's family and friends. May she rest in peace.
