Martine Dolores Waters
March 25, 2022
Martine Dolores Waters, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 25, 2022 at her home in Indianola.
Martine was born October 25, 1981 to Mike and Synda Waters in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 2000. Martine worked for Nationwide for over thirteen years. She loved to try new things and had an amazing joy for life. Martine had recently taken up fishing, to the surprise of her family. She loved to watch meteor showers or just gaze at the stars in the sky. She was a devoted “dog mom” to her two boxers and they all enjoyed taking rides in her new jeep. Martine was an amazing person and friend who was highly talented and was consistently sought out for advice and overall support. We will miss her smile, laugh, and get it done attitude.
She is survived by her parents, Mike and Synda; siblings, Michelle (Mike), Michael Jr., Marshane (Dustin), and Autumn; her niece and nephew, Maddie and Drake; her beloved dogs, Beezee and Blitzy; and countless friends and many loving extended family.
Martine was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
There will be a celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private family burial will take place at North River Cemetery, Greenfield Township.

Martine was one of my favorite people at Nationwide and I will truly miss her. Not just because she went out of her way to make sure to help any and everyone, but she was a kind, upbeat individual that worked took time to explain how things worked so that I could be a better and more productive partner. I pray that God touch her family and friends and that He bring peace during this difficult time. May you rest in heaven angel. You will be missed!!!!

I was incredibly touched by Martine's kindness; she never said she was too busy to help me, and she never made me feel insignificant to the work that we had to do. We spoke often, and I will miss her kindness the most.
Epitaph by Merrit Malloy
When I die give whats left of me away
to children and old men that wait to die.
And if you need to cry,
cry for your brother walking the street beside you.
And when you need me, put your arms around anyone
and give them what you need to give me.
I want to leave you something,
something better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people Ive known or loved,
and if you cannot give me away,
at least let me live in your eyes and not your mind.
You can love me best by letting hands touch hands,
and by letting go of souls that need to be free.
Love doesnt die, people do.
So, when all thats left of me is love,
give me away.
