Timothy Van Oort

Timothy J. Van Oort, 47 of Des Moines, passed away Monday, February 5, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Avenue; visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Friday evening at the church. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Tim was born July 27, 1959 in Mason City to Dwayne and Dolores (Manlove) Van Oort. He was a Project Manager for Maid-Rite Corporation. Tim was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and the Local Ironworkers #67 A F of L. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, photography, and spending time with family and friends.
Tim is survived by his loving wife Mindy; his children, Joshua Van Oort (Brooke Clay), Jeremy Van Oort (Michelle Kouba), Jacob Van Oort, and Anna Van Oort (Cale Kastner); his mother, Dolores Van Oort; his brothers, Steven (Darlene) Van Oort, and Terry (Cheryl) Van Oort; his sister, Sherry (Steven) Gill; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Dwayne Van Oort; and his grandparents Sophia (Apel) Manlove, Ottolena Griffen, and Herman Van Oort.
