Nathaniel (Nate) Potter
March 27, 2022
Nathaniel David Potter, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Nate was born February 8, 1986, in Des Moines, Iowa to David Potter and Robin Faux.
Everyone who knew Nate, quickly realized he loved the outdoors; mention the word river and he was in it to win it. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping, fishing, and building raging bonfires. His favorite teams included the Chicago Bulls, Oakland Raiders, and the White Sox. He always kept busy creating art, working on cars, riding his motorcycles, playing basketball, and hanging with his family and friends. Nate had the biggest heart, with the warmest smile; well known to be loyal, a protector and loved by many. His legacy and the best parts of him will live on through his three boys.
A favorite quote shared by Mekallo from his dad. Nate would ask, “Who’s the man”, I would answer “I am the man”. He would ask three times, emphasizing each time a little more, till I was standing tall and yelling proudly! He was the biggest man in our lives!
He is survived by his mother, Robin Faux; father, David (Lisa) Potter; children, Mekallo Potter, Nitzeo Potter, and Apollo Potter; siblings, Kristi Potter, Angie Potter, Trevor Potter; five nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Nate was preceded in death by his grandparents Hazel and Orville Potter; his aunts, Sherry Potter and Linda Potter-Scudillo; and his uncle, Curtis Faux.
Nate was cremated and there will be a private family celebration of life held at a later date.
