Elmer Martin

Elmer Martin, 80, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 22, 2022.

Elmer was born December 3, 1941 to Alfred and Wanda Martin in Russell, Iowa. He worked in construction and maintenance all of his life. Elmer wasn’t one to sit still. He loved working on cars, fishing, tinkering around in the garage, and spending quality time with his kids and grandkids.

Elmer is survived by his sons, Danny (Sonyia) Martin, Donny (Melissa) Martin, David Martin and Jeremiah (Jami) Martin; daughters, Sarah (Matt) Miller and Anna (Andrew) Martin; step-sons, Shawn Porter and Kenny Porter; six grandchildren, Lillianna, Odin, Rumer, Taylee, Addison and Ares; siblings, Janet Edwards, Robert Martin, Delbert Martin and Albert Martin;
and a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rebecca.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
