Debra Evans, 70, passed away on March 22, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on July 11, 1951, to William and Helen Evans.

Debra loved all things sports. When she was younger she participated in many sports, and as she grew older, she became an avid fan. Debra enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, and Dallas Cowboys. Vacationing to Arizona to visit family was one of her greatest joys. Debra belonged to a group called the Lunch Ladies (Diane, Rhonda, Connie and Pat), and loved playing card games, Peanuts, and Hand and Foot.

Debra is survived by siblings, Sherry (Clair) Young, Pat (Larry) Lynch; nieces and nephews; Roby (Hannah) Young II, Todd (Alma) Young, Torey (Mindy) Young, Christopher (Clara) DenHartog, and Billy (Lara) DenHartog; great nieces and nephews, Tayler, Mason, Olivia (Charlie), Nate, Dalan, and Mykayla; and her lifelong best friend, Sharon Culp. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th St, Des Moines. The family will receive visitors at the church from 9-11 a.m.
