Gayleen Ann Means, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Gayleen was born February 23, 1939 to Gail and Leva (Beck) Franker. She lived in the Royal, Iowa area for most of her life. She married Frank Means on May 23, 1959 in Storm Lake, Iowa.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles and Auxiliary were an integral part of Gayleen’s life. She served as Past Madam President of the Spencer Auxiliary and Past Madam President of the Western Zone. Gayleen loved to watch sports. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and would even rewatch old games. Gayleen loved her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Leva Franker, brother David Franker, brother-in-law Darrell Beving, and her husband of almost 40 years, Frank.

Gayleen is survived by her children, Kim Curtice (Jay), Teresa Morales, Shelly Beery, Eric Means, and Gale Metivier; siblings, Sandra Beving, Sherry Blomberg (Larry), and Dan Franker (Linda); grandchildren, Mike, Elizabeth, JC, Michael, Thony, Michelle, Aly, Quintin, Kinnick, and Hayden; and great-grandchildren, Abby and JR.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 207 Church Street, Royal, IA with a luncheon to follow.
