Janet M. Lehman

Janet M. Lehman, 78, passed away March 10, 2022 at her home. Janet was born April 6, 1943 to Minerva and James Pelzer in Griswold, Iowa. After graduating from Griswold High School, Janet began her career in banking, advancing through multiple institutions as teller, lending officer, branch manager, and retired as an officer at Iowa State Bank.

Endeared as “Dolly”, Janet joins her husband of 57 years, Ron, who passed February of this year. Dedicated wife, loving mother, nurturing grandmother and generous teacher, “Mom, Granny, JDawg” was the light and guide for her minions - son, John Chadwick Lehman; daughter, Carrie Lehman Urban; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Rachel and Lily Urban, and Sophia and Maxwell Lehman. A caring daughter and sister, Janet is joining her parents, Minerva and James; and brothers, Eldon and Donald Pelzer – she will be missed dearly by her siblings, Betty Lantz and Dennis Pelzer.

A billion-dollar lady, Janet shared her unwavering kindness, selfless generosity, and gentle compassion with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. A pillar for those who knew her, her light will be remembered with fondness and gratitude.

Your love and support is a blessing that will always be cherished. We will raise cups together again.

A memorial for Ron and Janet is planned for Sunday, May 29, 2022, place and time to be determined.
