Roger Chumbley

Roger Leslie Chumbley passed away in his home on Friday, March 4th, 2022.

Roger was born April 30th, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lester and Ruthann (Byers) Chumbley. He graduated from Saydel High School in 1967. Roger served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. He worked as a Bricklayer for 49 years and finished his career with Belloma Masonry.

Roger is survived by his daughter Michelle Chumbley, son Chad (Marie) Chumbley; grandchildren Cohen and Marissa Chumbley; brother Randy Chumbley; sisters Rosalind Embry, Rosemary (Al) Voll, Rita (Kirk) Williams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Rodney, and sister Robin.

Family will gather with friends at Stan’s (currently known as Roy’s, 4275 NW 2nd St in Des Moines) to celebrate Roger’s life on Saturday, March 26th from 2–5 pm.

Military burial will be held on Monday, March 28th at 2pm at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive in Adel.
